Iggy Azalea has clarified her position on returning to music after a follower on Instagram asked whether she recently signed a new recording deal.

She wrote, “I’m very sure I don’t want to come back to the music industry.”  She also noted that she previously considered returning before deciding against it. Her comment followed a gradual reduction in major releases over recent years.

Azalea’s last studio album, “The End of an Era”, was released in 2021. Her first album, “The New Classic”, came out in 2014 and included the single “Fancy”, which gained significant international recognition. These projects formed the core of her earlier mainstream activity before shifting away from releasing new material.

Earlier this year, Azalea wrote on X that Universal Music Group owed her unpaid royalties from international revenue. She said the amount stood at “millions of dollars in back pay” and described the figure as “technically stole”.

In August, she stated that she had been labelled an “industry plant” and referred to the rap environment as a “battlefield.” She remarked, “I was stepping on landmines left and right, and I just couldn’t survive it.”

Azalea is now the co-founder or owner of such businesses as Mother Coin cryptocurrency, Motherland crypto casino, and Unreal Mobile, a wireless company.
