The Miami Heat returned to winning ways with a dominant 132–101 victory over the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon, snapping a run of three defeats in their previous four games.
Adebayo, Jakucionis Lead Heat Scoring
Bam Adebayo and Kasparas Jakucionis led Miami with 22 points apiece in an efficient offensive display. Norman Powell added 21 points, while Kel’el Ware posted a strong double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds.
Simone Fontecchio chipped in 12 points, and Andrew Wiggins contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds, as the Heat delivered a balanced team performance.
Heat Take Control Before Halftime
Washington kept the contest close early before Miami seized momentum late in the first quarter with a 14–2 run, capped by consecutive three-pointers from Jakucionis to give the Heat a 37–33 lead.
Miami widened the gap in the second period with a 12–0 surge, highlighted by Fontecchio’s three-pointer and a long-range effort from Adebayo. A late 7–0 burst ensured the Heat entered halftime firmly in control at 74–52.
Third-Quarter Surge Puts Game Beyond Reach
The Heat extended their advantage to 31 points in the third quarter as Wiggins and Powell bookended an 8–0 run to stretch the lead to 92–61.
Miami then added 10 unanswered points to push the score to 105–73, effectively sealing the outcome well before the final period.
Wizards Unable To Keep Pace
Although Washington edged the final quarter 26–25, the contest had long been decided as Miami coasted to a comprehensive road win.
Tristan Vukcevic led the Wizards with 14 points, while Justin Champagnie, Kyshawn George, and Bub Carrington scored 13 each. Alex Sarr recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, but Washington could not match Miami’s sustained offensive pressure.
