Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been removed from his scheduled exhibition bout against Jake Paul on November 14, following serious battery allegations.
The accusations were filed by Davis’s ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, who alleges that Davis assaulted her at her workplace, a strip club, on October 27. She claims he committed battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Miami Gardens police confirmed that an investigation is ongoing. Rossel has obtained a restraining order against Davis, barring him from contacting her or entering her workplace.
In light of the allegations, Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of the promotion company Most Valuable Promotions, announced the cancellation of the Paul vs Davis event. He said a future event headlined by Jake Paul is still in the works. Davis enters the controversy with an unblemished professional record of 30-0-1, and he is a reigning WBA lightweight champion.
