Fulham denied Liverpool all three points with a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser in a 2–2 Premier League draw on Sunday.
Match Highlight
Fulham struck first in the 17th minute through former Liverpool winger Harry Wilson, who finished calmly into the bottom corner. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but VAR overturned the decision. Liverpool struggled to gain control before the break, missing the presence of injured forward Hugo Ekitike.
The visitors improved after halftime and drew level in the 57th minute. Florian Wirtz scored his second league goal for the club, although he admitted post-match he initially thought the effort would be ruled out.
I was sure it was offside, so I didn’t even celebrate. I was happy to score, but I’d rather take the three points.
Wirtz said.
Liverpool appeared to have won it in the 94th minute when Cody Gakpo bundled home Jeremie Frimpong’s cross, sparking wild celebrations in the away end. However, Fulham produced a stunning response three minutes later. Harrison Reed curled a spectacular 30-metre strike into the top corner for his first goal since April 2023.
Reaction & Table
Fulham manager Marco Silva described the draw as “completely fair”, while Liverpool coach Arne Slot admitted the late setback was “not a surprise”.
Liverpool remain fourth on 34 points, 14 behind leaders Arsenal. Fulham sit 11th with 28 points.
