Chelsea’s struggles continued on Sunday as they slipped to a 2–1 Premier League defeat against Fulham, with newly appointed head coach Liam Rosenior watching from the stands.
Match Highlight
Chelsea’s task was made significantly harder in the 22nd minute when Marc Cucurella was sent off. The defender was shown a straight red card after pulling down Harry Wilson, denying a clear goalscoring opportunity, and forcing the visitors to play over an hour with 10 men.
Fulham made their numerical advantage count early in the second half. Raul Jimenez rose highest in the 55th minute to head the hosts in front, finishing off sustained pressure.
Chelsea briefly found hope despite being a man down. Rory Delap levelled the score when he reacted quickest to turn in a rebound after a corner struck the post.
That optimism was short-lived. With nine minutes remaining, Harry Wilson produced the decisive moment. He skipped past Jorrel Hato inside the box before firing a left-footed half-volley beyond Robert Sanchez to restore Fulham’s lead and secure all three points.
Fans Voice Discontent
The defeat fuelled further frustration among Chelsea supporters. A “BlueCo out” banner was displayed in the stands, accompanied by chants aimed at the club’s ownership.
Table Picture
The loss drops Chelsea to seventh in the Premier League table, slipping below Brentford. Fulham move level with the Blues on 31 points from 21 matches, underlining the tight race in the mid-table positions as Rosenior prepares to officially take charge.
