Folarin Odunlami simply known as Fola has officially crossed 1 billion career streams across digital streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
The milestone comes just a little over a year after he signed with Dangbana Republik, the label led by Bella Shmurda. Since then, Fola’s catalogue has gained serious traction, driven by his breakout EP: “What a Feeling” and his debut album “Catharsis.”
A number of his major songs have driven this meteoric rise. On his breakout EP: “What a Feeling,” tracks like “Alone” (featuring BhadBoi OML) and its remix with Bnxn became standout hits. Significant songs also include “Who Does That” with Bella Shmurda, “Dangbana Riddim” with Bella Shmurda as well.
On his debut album Catharsis, Fola continued to build momentum with key singles such as “You”, “Lost” (featuring Kizz Daniel), and “Eko.”
Fola’s success has earned celebration from his inner circle. Bella Shmurda, his label boss took to X to congratulate him, writing: “Congratulations striker!”
Their working relationship runs deep: Bella said he has known Fola for over four years, and signed him to Dangbana Republik to “protect his craft” while giving him creative freedom. Industry watchers via X say Fola’s billion-stream landmark strengthens his standing, both for touring and collaborations. He’s also poised for more growth as his album Catharsis recently crossed 100 million streams on Spotify.
