Nigerian magician FaddoTheGreat is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest magic marathon. The project centres on his goal to expand recognition for magic and increase visibility for the craft in Nigeria’s entertainment sector.
In an interview with Hip TV, he opened up about his mission to put Nigerian magic on the global map.
“Performing in Nigeria is very exciting because you get different types of perspectives to magic. Some people understand what magic is while some do not,” he said. “For me, I am very intentional about creating the right awareness for what I do.”
At the interview, he outlined the target set by his team and the intention behind it. He states, “We plan on going for 50 hours non-stop magic. The record we are trying to beat is 30 hours, so we want to double it.”
He also explained the requirements guiding the attempt; no trick can be repeated within four hours, and every trick had to be pre-approved by Guinness World Records.
“The rules are very intense, but I’ve prepared for them”, he said. He confirmed that preparation has taken a year to meet expectations and performance conditions.
The historic three-day marathon will take place from November 27 to 29 at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, and entry is completely free.
FaddoTheGreat promises an unforgettable show; “It’s going to be fun and amazing with a unique experience. Fans should expect different types of magic, over 250 tricks!”, he said.
