Eko Hotels Celebrates International Women’s Day 2026 in Lagos

The management of Eko Hotels & Suites marked International Women’s Day 2026 as part of their 50th Founder’s Day celebrations.

The celebration took place at the Grand Ballroom Eko Hotels & Suites on March 7, 2026. Organised by Anabel Gbenebgara, Executive Assistant to the Director of Sales and Marketing of Eko Hotels, the event brought together women from different walks of life under the theme #GiveToGain to celebrate achievement, empowerment, and leadership.

Stylish Arrival and Welcome Cocktail

Guests arrived from 4:00 PM for a welcome cocktail, enjoying drinks and canapés. Women stepped out in style in a variety of stunning contemporary and traditional outfits, showcasing confidence and elegance.

The event was compèred by Neks and Alexis and began with a welcome speech and toast to women delivered by Iyadunni Gbadebo, Director of Sales and Marketing at Eko Hotels & Suites.

Dr. Gbadebo emphasised the event’s theme, highlighting the importance of giving and collective growth.

Music and Interactive Activities

The evening featured a performance by Purp Soul, the winner of Nigerian Idol 2025. Guests also enjoyed interactive ice breakers led by Alexis, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.

Inspiring Panel Session

The main panel session, hosted by Neks, featured prominent women leaders including:

  • Olubunmi Kuku
  • Kafayat Shafau
  • Ayomide Faniyi
  • Eunice Obierhumen
  • Enitan Okonkwo
  • Morenike Aligunrin

Speaking exclusively to HipTV, Olori Ronke Ogunwusi reflected on the theme #GiveToGain, emphasising the importance of mentorship and support among women.

“To mentor is to be selfless. When you give, you also gain because there is always a reward in giving. Mentorship means offering guidance, training, and lending a helping hand. As women, we should always try to lift others up.”

Women Share Their Perspectives

Other women attendees also shared why International Women’s Day matters and what #GiveToGain means to them personally, highlighting empowerment, mutual support, and opportunities for growth.

A Lively and Interactive Finale

The celebration concluded with a lively dance choreography session led by Dr. Kaffy. The evening ended with fun games where participants won prizes from event sponsors, adding an interactive and energetic close to the celebration.
