Disc jockey Princess Ntuk Williams, popularly known as DJ Pretty Play, is set to attempt the Guinness World Records title for the longest marathon club DJ-ing.
The attempt will begin on Tuesday, 3rd March, at Bay Lounge in Lekki, Lagos, with a target of 288 consecutive hours behind the turntables.

Motivation Behind the Challenge
Speaking with HipTV, DJ Pretty Play explained that the decision to take on the challenge stems from personal discipline and a desire to elevate her brand through a self-driven achievement.
She said:
“Pushing myself beyond comfort and also to prove that discipline can take it further than fear. I just wanted to do something that could put me out there, something that I could proudly say, oh, I achieved this myself, just for my brand.”
Faith and Experience as Driving Forces
With 12 years of DJing experience, she expressed confidence in her preparation and faith.
She stated:
“Firstly, I’ll say if this is by my strength, I might not be able to do it, but because I believe that my God will see me through, and years of training, and I have deep understanding for my craft as a DJ, so I believe that I’ll be able to surpass that with God on my side.”
Strict Guinness Guidelines
DJ Pretty Play revealed that preparation began seven months ago and has included fitness training, medical check-ups, brand partnerships, and a three-day test run.
Under Guinness World Records guidelines:
- Songs cannot be repeated within four hours.
- She is entitled to five minutes of rest per hour, which can be accumulated.
She acknowledged the difficulty of maintaining focus over several days without proper sleep.
“This is strict, you know, after three days without sleep, your visuals are not as sharp, and it’s easy to forget or skip songs. Maintaining the sequence for days is really challenging.”
Open Invitation to the Public
DJ Pretty Play emphasized that the marathon event will be open to the public at no cost. She invited fans and supporters to witness the record attempt live.
She promised a continuous club atmosphere, complete with hype men and dancers, throughout the duration of the marathon.
