Diddy and Son Settle Lawsuit Over Unpaid Legal Fees

Sean “Diddy” Combs and his son Christian Combs have reached a settlement with law firm Summa LLP over alleged unpaid legal fees exceeding $53,000. The plaintiffs alleged that the fees accrued from attorney work and paralegal services rendered.

Background of the Yacht Case

Summa LLP had defended Christian Combs in a sexual assault case filed by yacht waitress Grace O’Marcaigh. She alleged that she was pressured to perform sexual acts while working on a yacht chartered by the younger Combs.

She further claimed that Diddy fostered a “lawless atmosphere” during the trip. Diddy denied any involvement, stating he was neither a party to the yacht charter nor connected to the alleged events.

Court documents outlined the extensive legal work conducted by Summa LLP, including preparing responses to motions, strategy sessions, and legal research.

Social Media Attention and Documentary Reference

The dispute gained additional attention after 50 Cent referenced the yacht case on Instagram. His comments followed the release of the Sean Combs: The Reckoning documentary, which he executive-produced.

Ongoing Appeal

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence following convictions on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has scheduled oral arguments in his appeal for April 9, 2026.

Prosecutors have filed documents urging the appeals court to uphold both the conviction and the sentence.

The settlement with Summa LLP resolves the immediate dispute over unpaid legal fees, closing one chapter in the family’s legal challenges.
