Paris Saint-Germain returned to the top of Ligue 1 with a commanding 3–0 home victory over Lille on Friday night.
The result puts PSG two points clear, although second-placed Lens can reclaim the top spot with a win over Auxerre on Saturday.
Dembélé Sets the Tone
Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a superb curling effort from 20 yards. The early goal allowed PSG to control the tempo, dominating possession and limiting Lille’s attacking threat throughout the first half.
Second Strike Seals Control
Dembélé doubled his tally in the 64th minute with a moment of brilliance. Spotting the goalkeeper off his line, he executed an audacious chip from inside the box to effectively end the contest.
Barcola Adds the Finish
Substitute Bradley Barcola sealed the win in stoppage time, capitalising on a defensive error to make it 3–0 and underline PSG’s dominance.
Enrique’s Assessment
PSG coach Luis Enrique praised Dembélé’s influence but challenged him to raise his overall level.
“Everyone will say that Ousmane is the best player, but for me, no,” Enrique said.
“We still need to see the best version of Ousmane defensively.”
