The Los Angeles Clippers produced a commanding display to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 115–96 on Sunday night in Minneapolis, securing their second straight victory.
Kawhi Leonard starred with a dominant 41-point performance, leading the visitors in a convincing road win.
Leonard Leads From The Front
Leonard was in complete control throughout the night, finishing with 41 points and eight rebounds as the Clippers dictated the tempo for long stretches.
John Collins and Yanic Konan Niederhauser added 15 points apiece, while Kobe Sanders contributed 10 points in a balanced supporting effort.
Clippers Seize Control Before Halftime
Los Angeles gradually built momentum and took firm control late in the first half. A decisive 20–6 run before the break gave the Clippers a 54–42 halftime lead and set the tone for the remainder of the contest.
The visitors came out strong after halftime, opening the third quarter with a 7–0 burst through jumpers from Collins and Leonard, plus a Derrick Jones Jr. three-pointer, to stretch the lead to 61–42.
Third-Quarter Surge Seals The Win
Minnesota briefly threatened when Anthony Edwards’ dunk cut the deficit to 63–56. However, the Clippers responded emphatically, closing the third quarter on a 17–3 run.
Sanders knocked down two three-pointers during the surge as Los Angeles entered the final period comfortably ahead 80–59.
Leonard and company maintained control throughout the fourth quarter, leading by at least 18 points. Jordan Miller’s pair of free throws with 3:10 remaining pushed the margin to a game-high 28 points.
Timberwolves Fall Short At Home
Edwards led Minnesota with 23 points. Julius Randle finished with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Rudy Gobert recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.
Ayo Dosunmu scored 11 points in his Timberwolves debut after joining from Chicago earlier in the week.
The result underlined the Clippers’ growing rhythm, while Minnesota were left searching for answers after being outplayed on both ends of the floor.
