Ciara and her husband, Russell Wilson, have made a $3 million donation to Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital in New York. The donation was made through their Why Not You Foundation. It supports paediatric programmes focused on care spaces used by young patients during treatment.
Purpose Of The Donation
The donation was directed towards improving shared hospital areas where children take part in creative and therapeutic activities. It also supported a holiday shop created for patients receiving care at the hospital. The initiative formed part of the foundation’s ongoing work linked to children’s health and community support.
Wilson explained that his regular visits to the hospital influenced the decision to contribute.
I started going to children’s hospitals because my dad was always in the hospital, he said.
Continued Community Support
He added that those visits shaped how he viewed service and responsibility beyond professional sport.
Every time I walk in a room, I’m praying for a miracle, something great to happen, Wilson said.
He has continued to visit the hospital on weekdays when his schedule allowed, spending time with young patients during treatment periods.
Earlier in the year, the Why Not You Foundation confirmed it had raised more than $21 million across its projects. Beyond this donation, Ciara has remained active in community-focused work through both joint and individual initiatives.
