Boxing: Ryan Garcia Set To Challenge Mario Barrios For WBC Welterweight Title

Ryan Garcia has confirmed that he will face WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios on February 21, 2026.

Garcia, who has a 24-2 record with 20 knockouts, has never won at welterweight. He lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Rolando “Rolly” Romero in May 2025.

The 30-year-old champion Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs) comes into the fight after recent draws against Manny Pacquiao and Abel Ramos.

Garcia made the announcement by sharing a contract-signing video on Instagram.  He said: “I’m going to be fighting for the real WBC championship belt … February 21st. Get ready because I’m coming.”
