Billie Eilish has postponed the cinema release of Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour (Live In 3D) from 20 March to 8 May 2026. The film, her first theatrical release, documents her four sold-out Manchester shows from July 2025.
The project was unveiled in November 2025 and filmed at the Co-Op Live arena. It captures performances from the Hit Me Hard And Soft tour, which supported her 2024 studio album. The production was designed for cinema exhibition and built for large-format three-dimensional presentation.
James Cameron Confirms Delay
The delay was confirmed by celebrated movie maker James Cameron, director of Titanic and Avatar movie series, who is co-directing the film with Eilish. Cameron explained that the team is:
“refining the cut; dialling in cool, new 3D tech; adding some special behind-the-scenes we know you’ll love.”
The message confirmed the new release date and described the finished version as “worth the wait”.
Cameron also shared an image from the editing suite showing Eilish framed within the film’s three-dimensional stage environment. The production applies filming methods not previously used for a concert release.
Film Background
Eilish had introduced the project during her Manchester run in 2025, explaining that the four nights formed a single production recorded for a three-dimensional film.
The release follows her earlier concert project, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles, which debuted on streaming in 2021.
