Besiktas have completed the permanent signing of striker Tammy Abraham from Roma for £11.2m. The move clears the way for his return to the Premier League with Aston Villa. The Turkish club confirmed the deal as Villa finalised an £18m agreement to bring the England international back to England.
Abraham, 28, travelled to the UK on Friday and underwent a medical on Saturday after Villa reached terms with Besiktas. The forward initially joined the Istanbul club on loan last summer from Roma, with an obligation to buy included in the agreement.
Transfer Details and Career Background
Besiktas have agreed to sell Abraham after fulfilling the contractual conditions tied to his permanent transfer. In a statement, the club said:
“The conditions in the transfer contract of Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham have been fulfilled and the provision for the permanent transfer of the player has come into effect.”
Besiktas confirmed that a fee of €13m will be paid to Roma. Abraham scored 12 goals in 24 appearances for the Turkish side this season and has earned 11 caps for England.
Abraham joined Roma from Chelsea in 2021 for £34m. He scored 39 goals in 120 matches and won the Europa Conference League in 2022. With the paperwork completed, he is set to complete his move to Aston Villa.
