Hansi Flick, head coach of FC Barcelona, admitted on Monday to self-reflection. His touchline dismissal and emotional reaction during the club’s 2–1 win over Girona prompted it.
The German was shown a yellow card and then a red late in that match, following a gestural outburst after Ronald Araujo’s 93rd-minute winner, and will miss the upcoming El Clásico versus Real Madrid as a result.
“I’ve seen myself on television and I don’t like it. I don’t want my grandchildren to see their grandfather like that,” Flick said. “So maybe I have to change my behaviour.”
He added: “Now I have more emotions; this club has completely changed me…the way I celebrate and the way I live for this club.”
