Bam Adebayo delivered a historic performance on Tuesday night, scoring 83 points to lead the Miami Heat to a 150–129 victory over the Washington Wizards.
The 28-year-old center recorded the second-highest single-game scoring total in NBA history. His feat surpassed Kobe Bryant’s 81-point performance in 2006. Only Wilt Chamberlain’s legendary 100-point game in 1962 remains ahead of him on the all-time list.
Blistering Start From Adebayo
Adebayo made a remarkable start, scoring 31 points in the opening quarter as Miami surged to a 40–29 lead.
He finished the first half with 43 points, another franchise record, as the Heat extended their advantage to 76–62 at halftime.
Record-Breaking Night
The scoring spree continued after the break. Adebayo added 19 points in the third quarter, breaking the Heat’s previous single-game scoring record of 61 points set by LeBron James in 2014.
He eventually finished with 83 points on 20-of-43 shooting, including seven three-pointers and an outstanding 36-of-43 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed nine rebounds in the dominant performance.
Heat Extend Winning Run
The victory marked Miami’s sixth straight win and improved their home record to 22–11.
The Wizards, meanwhile, slumped to their ninth consecutive defeat, with Alex Sarr leading the scoring for Washington with 28 points.
