Aston Villa extended their winning run in the Premier League with a 2–1 home victory over Manchester United at Villa Park on Sunday, thanks to a brace from Morgan Rogers.

Rogers opened the scoring just before halftime with a curling shot from John McGinn’s assist. United equalised immediately through Matheus Cunha, but Rogers restored Villa’s lead in the 57th minute with a composed finish.
United suffered another setback when captain Bruno Fernandes was forced off at halftime due to injury. Despite efforts from substitutes, the visitors could not find a late equaliser.
Rogers, now with seven goals and three assists in 17 league games, credited the win to hard work and fan support.

Villa’s seventh consecutive league win lifts them to third place with 36 points, three behind leaders Arsenal and one behind Manchester City. Manchester United remain in seventh with 26 points.
