Arsenal and the Rwanda Development Board have mutually agreed to end their “Visit Rwanda” sleeve sponsorship at the end of this season. This was announced on Wednesday by the Rwandan government.

The eight-year deal, worth around £10 million per season, drew scrutiny in recent years amid accusations that Rwanda backed the M23 rebel militia in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Arsenal confirmed the decision was reached amicably, noting the partnership had “exceeded its original goals” by promoting sustainable tourism, conservation efforts, and grassroots sport.

Arsenal’s Chief Executive, Richard Garlick, highlighted the collaboration’s impact, saying it helped raise global awareness of Rwanda while supporting the club’s long-term ambitions.

Meanwhile, Rwanda’s Development Board said it plans to shift its global strategy and deepen partnerships in markets like the U.S. and Spain, building on the momentum created during its time with Arsenal.
