Match Highlights
Despite being reduced to 10 men early in the second half, Equatorial Guinea stunned Burkina Faso by taking the lead in the 85th minute through substitute Marvin Anieboh, who headed home from a corner.
Burkina Faso had dominated for long spells but were wasteful, with Dango Ouattara and Bertrand Traore missing clear chances. Their numerical advantage came when Basilio Ndiong was sent off shortly after the restart.
The pressure finally paid off in stoppage time as Georgi Minoungou equalised from a tight angle. With momentum fully shifted, Burkina Faso pushed for a winner.
That decisive moment came with the final kick as Edmond Tapsoba nodded home after the goalkeeper spilled Cyriaque Irie’s cross.
The dramatic win leaves Burkina Faso level on points with Algeria ahead of their heavyweight clash on Sunday.
