Adekunle Gold has revealed plans for a homecoming concert titled The Greatest Show Yet. It is set to take place at the newly recommissioned Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts (formerly the National Arts Theatre) on Boxing Day, December 26, 2025.
The show will feature Adekunle Gold performing alongside a 55-piece orchestra from the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) and his live band, The 79th Element.
This production promises to be one of the largest symphonic collaborations in Nigerian music history, blending orchestra with the artiste’s signature highlife and Afrobeats sound.
In a video shared on social media, Adekunle Gold reflected on the personal significance of returning to the venue. Standing on the grand stage, he said:
“I’m honestly lost for words because I remember being here as a child around 1995 and was sitting somewhere here; it’s very dark. I remember watching the people right on this stage”.
The concert celebrates his latest album, *Fuji*, released in October 2025. The album takes a deep dive into traditional Yoruba fuji rhythms fused with modern elements.
In announcing the event on social media, Adekunle Gold said, “Experience FUJI and all 6 albums that shaped my journey live at the National Theatre, Lagos, December 26, with a 55-piece MUSON Orchestra and my band, The 79th Element.”
The newly renovated Wole Soyinka Centre reopened in October 2025 as part of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebrations. Renamed in honour of Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka, the facility symbolizes the nation’s commitment to preserving and elevating its artistic heritage.
Tickets are available via the official platform (pv.rsvp/adekunle-gold-live-lagos).
