Iwobi Scores As Fulham Beat Tottenham 2-1

Tottenham Hotspur extended their Premier League winless run to 10 matches after a 2-1 defeat at London rivals Fulham F.C. on Sunday.

Early Lead And VAR Controversy

Fulham took the lead in the seventh minute through Harry Wilson. This came after a VAR review upheld the goal despite Tottenham’s protests over a possible foul on defender Radu Drăgușin.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 34th minute when Alex Iwobi fired a powerful strike that swerved past goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and in off the post.

Spurs Struggle In Attack

Tottenham offered little attacking threat and did not register a shot on target until substitute Richarlison headed home in the 66th minute to reduce the deficit.

Fulham, however, continued to create chances, with Emile Smith Rowe going close as Vicario made crucial saves to prevent further damage.

Igor Tudor Reacts To Defeat

New Spurs manager Igor Tudor did not hide his frustration after suffering his second consecutive defeat in charge.

“We were not good, lacked everything. Attacking and defending. Fulham were much better. There are problems here, big problems,” Tudor said.

He added that his players must focus on improving their mentality:

“We need to find forces inside each of us. More personality, more wish to improve. Plenty of things. I want to see everything more.”

Relegation Concerns Grow

Tottenham are now the only team in the Premier League without a win this year and remain firmly in danger of relegation.

Spurs remain 16th, just four points above 18th-placed West Ham United F.C., while Fulham climbed to ninth with 40 points.
