Barcelona climbed to the top of LaLiga with a commanding 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Levante at Camp Nou on Sunday.
Goals from Marc Bernal, Frenkie de Jong, and substitute Fermin Lopez secured the win as the hosts responded strongly to last week’s defeat against Girona.
Fast Start Sets The Tone
Levante threatened inside the opening minute through Carlos Alvarez, but goalkeeper Joan Garcia made a comfortable save before Barcelona asserted control.
In the fourth minute, Eric Garcia surged down the left flank and delivered a low cross that 18-year-old Bernal converted from close range to open the scoring.
Control Before The Break
De Jong doubled Barcelona’s advantage in the 32nd minute, arriving unmarked to turn in Joao Cancelo’s cross as the hosts dominated possession.
Levante, who sit second from bottom on 18 points, nearly pulled one back earlier when Jon Ander Olasagasti broke through on the counterattack. However, Garcia produced a sharp one-on-one save to preserve the lead.
Lopez Seals The Win
Barcelona lacked some sharpness after the interval, with Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha both missing good chances.
Lopez wrapped up the victory in the 81st minute, firing home a left-footed strike to cap a comfortable afternoon for the league leaders.
Title Race Impact
The result moves Barcelona to 61 points from 25 matches, one point clear of Real Madrid following their rivals’ defeat to Osasuna.
