Impact and Longevity of ANTI

Released in January 2016, ANTI arrived as Rihanna’s eighth studio album and marked a clear creative shift in her career. The project moved away from rigid pop structures, embracing a more experimental and genre-fluid sound.

Several songs from the album became long-term staples on radio, in clubs, and across global streaming services, helping the project maintain consistent engagement years after its debut.

Streaming Growth and Milestones

ANTI has seen a 130 per cent increase in streaming activity over the past five years. The album recorded its highest single-day streaming total on 13 February 2023, shortly after Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime performance.

Three tracks from the album, “Love on the Brain”, “Needed Me”, and “Work”, have each surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, driven by steady global listening across multiple regions.

The album also achieved its strongest January streaming performance to date in 2026.

Looking Ahead

ANTI remains Rihanna’s most recent studio album. In a previous interview, the singer addressed her future recording plans, saying:

“I just cracked the code on what I really want to do for my next body of work. I am actually feeling really good about this.”
