Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt claimed a stunning 3–1 home victory over Manchester City on Tuesday, delivering one of the biggest shocks of the Champions League campaign.
Høgh Double Stuns City Early
Kasper Høgh struck twice in quick succession, scoring in the 22nd and 24th minutes, to put the hosts firmly in control. His opener came via a powerful header that slipped through goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma’s legs, before he curled in a second just two minutes later.
City, winners of the competition in 2023, struggled to impose themselves as Bodø executed a ruthless counter-attacking game plan.
Hauge Adds Moment Of Brilliance
Bodø tightened their grip after the break. In the 58th minute, Jens Petter Hauge produced a moment of individual brilliance, cutting inside and curling an unstoppable shot into the corner to make it 3–0.
City briefly threatened a response when Rayan Cherki pulled one back on the hour, but their hopes were effectively ended moments later.
Rodri Sent Off As City Fade
Captain Rodri was dismissed just two minutes after City’s goal, receiving two yellow cards in quick succession. The red card killed any momentum Pep Guardiola’s side had begun to build.
“Bodø fully deserved to win,” City striker Erling Haaland said. “They play fantastic football. I don’t know what we can do differently. We did our best.”

Despite the defeat, Manchester City remain fourth in the table. Bodø/Glimt sit 26th, just outside the playoff qualification places. City will host Galatasaray in their final match, while Bodø travel to Atletico Madrid.
