Defending champions Nigeria have been drawn in Group C alongside Egypt, Zambia, and tournament debutants Malawi for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Super Falcons to Defend Their Crown
The Super Falcons, Africa’s most successful women’s team, are defending the title they won just eight months ago after a thrilling 3–2 victory over hosts Morocco. That triumph secured Nigeria’s record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
Nigeria will play their group-stage matches in Casablanca.
World Cup Qualification at Stake
The tournament also serves as Africa’s qualification pathway to the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with the top four teams earning automatic tickets to the global showpiece.
