Dembélé, Bonmatí Named Players of the Year FIFA Awards 2025

Paris St Germain forward Ousmane Dembele and Spain’s Aitana Bonmati have been named FIFA Men’s and Women’s Players of the Year, respectively. The FIFA Player of the Year Awards was held in Doha on Tuesday December 16th, 2025.

Dembélé’s Historic PSG Season

Dembele, 28, played a starring role in PSG’s first-ever Champions League triumph, scoring 35 goals across all competitions last season. In addition, he netted 21 goals in Ligue 1 to finish as the league’s top scorer, secured a domestic treble with PSG, and helped the team reach the Club World Cup final.

Bonmatí’s Third Consecutive Win

Bonmati, 27, won the women’s award for the third consecutive year. The Barcelona midfielder guided her club to a domestic treble and reached the Champions League final. She also starred for Spain at Euro 2025, where she was named Player of the Tournament despite her side losing the final to England on penalties.

Other Major Winners

Luis Enrique was named Men’s Coach of the Year after leading PSG to continental glory. Meanwhile, Sarina Wiegman won the Women’s Coach award for a fifth time, following England’s Euro 2025 triumph. England and Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton was awarded the best women’s keeper award.  Gianluigi Donnarumma claimed the men’s best goalkeeper award after key performances in PSG’s treble season.

The FIFA Puskas Award for the best men’s goal went to Santiago Montiel for his overhead strike for Independiente in March. Meanwhile, Mexico’s Lizbeth Ovalle won the Marta Award for her iconic scorpion kick goal for Tigres against Guadalajara in May.
