Johnson Wen, a 26-year-old Australian man, was escorted out of a Lady Gaga concert in Brisbane. This happened just weeks after serving jail time in Singapore for aggressively rushing an actress on a red carpet.
Wen was removed from Suncorp Stadium before the start of the Mayhem Ball concert. Videos posted to social media by other attendees show security personnel escorting Wen from the venue. In the clips, fans can be heard shouting, “Get him out of here!”
Wen confirmed the removal shortly afterward on his Instagram Story, writing, “Got kicked out of Lady Gaga concert! The show doesn’t start till 8 p.m.! The early fans were booing me.”
This incident follows his arrest at the Singapore premiere of the film “Wicked: For Good” in November. At that event, Wen jumped a barricade and charged toward actress and singer Ariana Grande. He made contact with Grande, wrapped an arm around her neck, and grabbed her shoulder before being restrained by security. Grande’s co-star, Cynthia Erivo, assisted security in prying Wen away from Grande.
Wen was subsequently sentenced to nine days in jail and permanently banned from returning to the country.
Wen has a history of similar attempts to confront or interrupt high-profile entertainers. He was arrested this summer for rushing the stage during a Katy Perry concert and has also targeted The Chainsmokers and The Weeknd.
