Kodak Black officially launched his personal cryptocurrency, the $YAK Artiste Coin, during his annual “Kodak Day” celebration. The launch event took place on November 11th, 2025, at the Golden Acres housing project in Florida, where the artiste grew up.
The new token is based on the Solana blockchain and was created in partnership with the decentralized music platform Audius. The cryptocurrency provides holders with exclusive access to various forms of content.
Holders of the $YAK Artiste Coin will receive exclusive access to unreleased music, individual song stems, behind-the-scenes footage, and ongoing premium content from the rapper. The token’s name, “$YAK”, is an acronym for “You Already Know,” a signature phrase associated with the artiste’s brand.
The launch is part of Audius’ expanded initiative to integrate artiste-generated cryptocurrencies into its platform. The platform offers tools that enable musicians to create custom tokens and offer perks, including private Discord channels, recognition badges, and direct fan communication.
Roneil Rumburg, Audius co-founder and CEO, commented on the collaboration, stating, “Kodak Black is beloved by legions of fans as a true innovator in hip hop.
He’s taking that same pioneering spirit to create an entirely new way to engage and reward his most passionate fans, using Audius technology to unlock special moments for them.”
Tokens were distributed to attendees during the Golden Acres event. The initiative positions Kodak Black among the early adopters in the music industry who are blending cryptocurrency with direct fan monetization and engagement.
