The trailer for the Michael Jackson biopic Michael was released on 6 November, giving audiences their first official look at the film.
The clip opens with Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew, preparing to record as Quincy Jones’ voice introduces the story. The sequence includes scenes of recording sessions, dance rehearsals, and family moments reflecting different stages of Jackson’s life and career.
The footage also shows Jackson in his famous Thriller jacket performing before large stadium crowds. Other short scenes feature him organising songs with producer Quincy Jones, adding visual detail to the story of his musical rise and work in the studio.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, the film is produced by Lionsgate and Universal Pictures. The studio rescheduled its release from October 2025 to 24 April 2026 to allow for additional post-production and editing work.
The cast includes Jaafar Jackson, Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, and Larenz Tate. The movie covers Jackson’s life from childhood through his solo career, presenting key moments behind his best-known performances and collaborations.
