Victor Osimhen scored a second-half hat-trick as Galatasaray swept to a 3–0 victory over Ajax Amsterdam on Wednesday in the Champions League.
The first goal came in the 59th minute when Osimhen nodded home a cross from Leroy Sané at the near post. He then converted a penalty in the 66th minute after a handball by Ajax defender Youri Baas.
In the 78th minute, he fired a second penalty when Gerald Alders, on his European debut, inadvertently handled the ball in the box while trying to block a shot.
Galatasaray moved up to ninth in the 36-team competition standings with nine points from four matches. Ajax, meanwhile, remains bottom of the group with zero points so far.
Osimhen now has six goals in four Champions League matches this season, putting him atop the tournament’s scoring chart.
