Erling Haaland scored against his former club as Manchester City beat Borussia Dortmund 4-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Phil Foden opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. Foden collected a pass from Tijjani Reijnders and bent a left-foot strike into the net to give City an early advantage.

Seven minutes later, Haaland doubled the lead, finishing clinically after a blistering run from Jeremy Doku that sliced through Dortmund’s defence.

Foden completed his double in the 57th minute with another precise finish from Reijnders.

Dortmund pulled a goal back through Waldemar Anton’s free-kick in the 72nd minute. However, a late goal from Rayan Cherki in stoppage time sealed an emphatic win for City.

Manchester City, with 10 points, is now 4th on the table. Dortmund, meanwhile, find themselves in 14th position with 7 points.
