South African singer Tyla tops the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart with her new single “Chanel”. The track blends Afrobeats, amapiano, and pop and features the controversial refrain “Say you love me, put me in Chanel.”

The track, released under FAX/Epic Records, leads the streaming- and sales-based list dated Nov. 8. It recorded over 2.1 million official streams and several hundred downloads in the United States between Oct. 24 and 30, making a strong debut on the chart.

Outside the U.S., “Chanel” opens at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Afrobeats Chart. The song also starts at No. 5 on the World Digital Song Sales ranking, showing Tyla’s expanding global influence and the song’s growing reach across different audiences.

With “Chanel”, Tyla earns her third No. 1 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs list. Her first hit, “Water”, dominated the chart for 55 weeks, reaching No. 7 on the Hot 100. “Push 2 Start”, her second leader, ruled for 20 weeks earlier this year.

Meanwhile, American rapper Yung Miami has accused Tyla of copying her unreleased song “Take Me to Chanel”, which has a similar refrain to “Put Me in a Chanel”.
