Britney Spears has again criticised her ex-husband Kevin Federline over his upcoming memoir, claiming he is using her personal struggles for profit.
In her Instagram post, Spears accused Federline of being “angry” and attempting to humiliate her through interviews promoting his book “You Thought You Knew”, set for release on Tuesday Oct. 21st. She expressed frustration about being portrayed negatively while others profit from her pain.
Spears appeared to respond to Federline’s recent interviews and book excerpts in her Instagram post. In the memoir, Federline claimed she behaved strangely during their marriage, drank alcohol and used drugs.while breastfeeding. He also alleged she would hold knives in her hands while watching the children sleep.
Spears rejected the claims in her Instagram post, calling them “constant gaslighting” and saying they were “extremely hurtful and exhausting.” She denied Federline’s allegations, saying, “Those white lies in that book are going straight to the bank, and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.”
She also compared the situation to her past family conflicts. She mentioned her mother Lynne Spears, accusing her of isolating her emotionally. Spears said she was excluded from her son’s birthday and felt treated unfairly by relatives who once controlled her life.
The singer, and Federline, were married in 2004 and divorced in 2007. They share two adult sons, Preston and Jayden, who live with their father in Hawaii. Federline told The Hollywood Reporter that the boys supported his decision to publish the memoir.
Meanwhile, the singer has announced her personal plans for healing. She says she has bought a glass “miniature green house” as a space to reflect. She added that she hopes to start acting, write monthly columns, and possibly launch a podcast next year.
Her post concluded with a reflection on parenting and unconditional love. Spears wrote: “Parenting tips!!! It takes two seconds to call the one you love there’s 24 hours in a day and 365 days a year you can tell your child you are proud of them and love them even if they haven’t done anything!!! … God speed my beautiful babies!!! I love you more.
