Rapper 6ix9ine has begun serving a three-month prison sentence after a judge ruled that he repeatedly violated the conditions of his supervised release tied to an earlier federal case.
The decision follows a series of incidents that authorities said clearly breached the terms of his probation.
Drugs and Assault Led to Sentencing
According to court records, cocaine and MDMA were discovered inside 6ix9ine’s Florida residence during a police investigation. He also admitted in court to assaulting a man during a confrontation at a shopping centre.
The judge ruled that both incidents violated the conditions of his supervised release, prompting the immediate jail sentence.
6ix9ine Speaks Ahead of Incarceration
Before reporting to prison, the rapper made light of the situation while discussing where he would be held.
“Now, I’m about to go meet the president of Venezuela,” he said. “I have that luck of just being locked up with presidents.”
He later confirmed his destination, saying:
“I’m about to go to MDC Brooklyn.”
A History of Release Violations
This is not 6ix9ine’s first return to custody for failing to comply with court-ordered supervision. In 2024, he served 45 days in jail after testing positive for drugs, travelling without approval, and possessing illegal substances.
At the time, the court extended his supervised release and warned him that any further violations could result in more severe consequences.
With the latest ruling, the judge followed through on that warning, ordering the rapper back to prison.
