50 Cent has launched a $124 million entertainment development through his G-Unit Film & Television studio in Shreveport, northwest Louisiana.
The project covers film, television, digital media, and live events, establishing a permanent production hub in the region.
Project Scope and Locations
The development includes three major venues operating as a connected production corridor:
- The former Stageworks building, repurposed for production and live events
- The former Millennium Studios campus, undergoing full modernisation for screen production
- A new dome-style immersive venue, built beside a public green space
Together, the sites are designed to support continuous studio activity in the city centre
Expansion of G-Unit’s Screen Slate
The project reflects 50 Cent’s growing focus on film and television. His studio recently produced Sean Combs: The Reckoning for Netflix, which ranked second on Nielsen’s streaming chart for two consecutive weeks.
In a statement, 50 Cent described the development as a long-term commitment to the region:
“By reinvesting in downtown Shreveport and upgrading existing assets to create state-of-the-art entertainment and production facilities.”
He added:
“We are creating jobs, inspiring hope, and attracting new productions.”
“My goal is to turn northwest Louisiana into the premier destination for film, music, and live entertainment on a national scale.”
State Support and Official Response
On 12 January 2026, Louisiana Economic Development approved a Cooperative Endeavour Agreement with G-Unit. The deal provides up to $50 million in performance-based state support for infrastructure, dependent on verified economic activity and local business use.
Governor Jeff Landry welcomed the project, describing North Louisiana as “on the rise” and highlighting “the strength, talent, and potential of the region.”
