21 Savage Loses 25 Million Spotify Streams After Bot Purge

American rapper 21 Savage has reportedly lost approximately 25 million streams on Spotify from his album What Happened To The Streets? following a platform-wide bot purge. The adjustment affected all tracks on the project.

Spotify Bot Purge and Stream Adjustments

The removal of streams comes amid Spotify’s ongoing efforts to filter out artificial or inauthentic plays across the platform. Spotify has not issued a public explanation for the removal.

Album Performance and Chart Debut

What Happened To The Streets? was released in December 2025 and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, earning 73,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.

The album features collaborations with Drake, Latto, GloRilla, and Lil Baby.

Controversy Following Album Release

Following the album’s release, 21 Savage posted a controversial message on X, expressing frustration with street life while commenting on the ongoing tension between Young Thug and Gunna.

The post gained widespread attention after Young Thug repeated the statement, prompting reactions across the rap community. Artistes including NBA YoungBoy, Fivio Foreign, and 6ix9ine criticised the message, describing it as dismissive of street culture and its realities.

No Official Response Yet

As of reporting, 21 Savage and his management team have not issued a statement regarding the stream reduction.
